Support Groups

Support groups organized by Shepherd Center are open to the public. All groups meet at Shepherd Center unless noted below. For more information, call 404-350-7373.

Spinal Cord Injury Support Group
Meets the fourth Thursday of every month at Shepherd Center (Marcus Building, 2nd Floor Classroom) from
6 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Spinal Cord Injury Caregivers Support Group
Meets the fourth Thursday of every month at Shepherd Center (Shepherd Building, 1st Floor Callaway Room) from 7 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Spinal Cord Injury Support Group for Women
Meets the fourth Wednesday of every month at Shepherd Center (Marcus Building, 2nd Floor Classroom) from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.

MS Support Group
Meets the second Saturday of every month at Shepherd Center from 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. The group is open to people who have MS, their family and friends.

Hispanic Peer Support Group (Spinal Cord Injury)
This peer support group meets on an as-needed basis. If you would like to meet with the Hispanic peer support group, contact Pete Anziano at 350-3089 or email Pete.

Online Support
Shepherd recommends the New Mobility Web site for its online message board at NewMobilty.com. Click on "Message Board" to communicate with people around the world about catastrophic injuries. We also recommend Apparelyzed.com, which includes a peer support discussion area for people with SCI.

Spinal Cord Injury Support via Phone or Email
