Dr. Brock Bowman Named Associate Medical Director of Shepherd Center

ATLANTA - Shepherd Center’s Dr. Brock Bowman, who joined the medical staff in 1998, has been named Associate Medical Director of Shepherd Center.
In his new position, Dr. Bowman will become a member of the Center’s Senior Management team and will assist Medical Director Dr. Donald Leslie as necessary. Dr. Bowman, who is also Assistant Medical Director of the Spinal Cord Injury Program, will continue his clinical duties in the inpatient and outpatient areas, as well as his work with the resident physician program.
Dr. Bowman is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation and is subspecialty certified in spinal cord injury medicine. He graduated with honors from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, obtained his medical degree at Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, North Carolina, and completed his transitional medicine internship at Atlanta Medical Center. He received his specialty training in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Baylor College of Medicine, where he also served as the chief resident in his final year.
Originally from Los Gatos, California, Dr. Bowman is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the American Spinal Injury Association. He has a particular interest in treating individuals who have sustained brain and spinal cord injuries concurrently and heads the dual diagnosis team, which focuses on caring for these individuals.
