Shepherd Center Launches "ShepherdTV" Video Site

February 06, 2009

ATLANTA - (Feb. 6, 2009) - The Public Relations Department at Shepherd Center has launched an Internet site that houses new and regularly updated video content for viewers around the world.

The site, called “ShepherdTV,” is located at www.shepherdTV.org. ShepherdTV features brand new videos shot in HD format over the past several months, including overviews of Shepherd Center, a “What’s New” section and video vignettes profiling the amazing stories of former patients.

The site functions as Shepherd Center’s “video channel” in conjunction with other Internet video, audio and content sites created by Shepherd Center, including its YouTube and Facebook sites. The Web site and its video content were created by Atlanta-based KPKinteractive (KPKi).

ShepherdTV includes overviews of Shepherd Center, the Spinal Cord Injury Program and the acquired brain injury program, as well as a special feature tracing the founding of the Center by James Shepherd and his family. In addition, viewers can choose from a selection of “Stories of Hope,” which are individual patient stories told from their point of view – from their injury to reintegration back into their communities.

A “What’s New” section features constantly refreshed news and information about Shepherd Center, its programs, staff and patients.

Many of the videos are narrated by former CNN anchor Daryn Kagan, creator and host of darynkagan.com, which has been described by Oprah & Friends as a destination “that offers daily webcasts hosted by Daryn, as well as positive stories from television journalists and everyday people.”
