Neuropsychology

Shepherd Center provides neuropsychology services that are specific to a person's injury or illness at the inpatient and Day Program levels, as well as within various outpatient clinics at Shepherd.

Neuropsychology and Brain Injury
Brain injuries can change the way people think, behave and feel. Each person responds differently following a brain injury. Sometimes changes in thinking are most obvious, while other times, people experience changes in emotion and behavior. Difficulty functioning at home and work is very common following a brain injury, depending on the severity of the injury. Shepherd Center has several programs that are designed to help brain injured persons recover and function better at home and work. Neuropsychologists specialize in understanding, diagnosing and treating the cognitive, behavioral and emotional consequences of brain injury.

Clinical Care
Neuropsychologists at Shepherd Center offer diagnostic testing and treatment for persons with brain injuries, and provide a treatment plan that may involve a combination of neuropsychology consults, speech therapy and occupational and physical therapy.
