

This conference is intended for professionals involved in the treatment of individuals with spinal cord injury, including nurses, occupational therapists, certified occupational therapist assistants, physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, case managers, and exercise specialists.The main course will provide basic-to intermediate-level information. Wednesday, May 1: Understanding Pain and Spasticity After Neurologic Injury. This course is designed to broaden the knowledge base of pain and spasticity for medical staff working with individuals with a variety of neurological disorders. This course is designed to broaden the knowledge base of therapist on improving health, wellness & functional abilities of clients with spinal cord injury through the use of exercise prescription. The course will address the evidence behind the risk for cardiovascular disease, treatment modification, considerations, and precautions for treating individuals with spinal cord injury.
