All Sports Camp

The Therapeutic Recreation Department’s annual AllSports Camp features three days of valuable athletic instruction and fun scheduled each Fall at the Roosevelt Sports Training Complex in Warm Springs, Ga. The event is sponsored by Shepherd Center.

The camp is designed for people ages 18 and up with spinal cord injury or disease, multiple sclerosis, spina bifida, post-polio syndrome, amputation, Guillain-Barré syndrome, transverse myelitis or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).

Participants will get hands-on training in 12 sports: track and field, basketball, scuba diving, rugby, tennis, golf, handcycling, football, canoeing/kayaking, handball, fencing and over-the-line.

Instructors include some of the world’s top coaches and nationally ranked athletes, including Shepherd Center alum and Paralympic gold medalist Curtis Lovejoy and national record-setting wheelchair racer Rafael Ibarra.

UpDate: AllSports Camp has been canceled for the 2010 season.
