Administrative Assistance

Provide office support for various administrative tasks. Weekdays 9 a.m. - 5p.m.

Aquatics Fitness Buddy

Provide assistance to ProMotion Gym members during aquatic classes under the direction and supervision of the class instructor. Monday and Friday mornings.

Cafeteria Greeter

Welcome cafeteria guests and offer directions and assistance when necessary. Weekdays, Noon - 1:30 p.m.

Coffee Cafe

Assist the manager and help run the register at our small cafe located in the atrium. The cafe offers sandwiches, pastries and gourmet coffee.

Family Support Services

Provide information and assistance to newly admitted patients and their family members. Weekdays.

Locomotor Training

Assist patients involved in Shepherd Center's body weight supported treadmill training. Weekday mornings and afternoons.

Noble Learning Resource Center (Library)

Assist patients with Internet activities or research. Weekday evenings and weekends. (Must be 18 years old or older)

Outpatient Clinic Customer Service Liaison

Assist the Quality and Outcomes Department by surveying and collecting feedback from patients visiting Shepherd Center’s outpatient clinics. Weekday mornings and afternoons.

Outpatient Yoga Assistant

Under the training, instruction and supervision of the Yoga teacher, provide demonstrative instruction and assistance to outpatient clients. Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings.

Patient Assistant

Offer friendly assistance to patients by assisting patients with opening and reading mail, cleaning laundry, distributing videos and DVDs, filling water pitchers and assisting with miscellaneous non-nursing tasks as assigned by a charge nurse. Weekday and weekend evenings.

Patient Mail

Deliver mail to patients. Weekdays after 3 p.m.

Patient Meals

Assist patients at meal times. Monday – Saturday, 7 a.m., noon, and 5 p.m.; or Sundays at 8 a.m., noon, and 5 p.m.

Patient Tutor

Offer your knowledge and teaching skills to adolescent patients as they learn new school subjects and work on homework. Math and science tutors are especially desired for this position. Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, September - April.

Peer Support

A great activity for former patients to share their time and experience with new patients. Weekdays at various times.

ProMotion Fitness Buddy

Provide assistance to ProMotion Gym members during workout or prescribed exercise programs by offering verbal instructions and physical demonstrations of proper equipment set up and usage procedures. Weekdays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. by appointment.

Rehabilitative Equipment Assistant

Assist in inspection, cataloging, light repair and organization of patient rehabilitative equipment in the Spinal Cord Injury Unit or the Wheelchair Seating Clinic. Weekdays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Special Events

Assist with Shepherd Center's annual fundraising events and other special events. Primarily nights and weekends on an as-needed basis.

Welcome Desk

Greet visitors as they enter the building, provide information and directions around the Center and occasionally escort patients to and from the outpatient clinics and various other locations. Times are flexible.
