Shepherd Center

Chartered in 2008, the Shepherd Center Society, or SCS, was established to help bridge between the Junior Committee, our younger volunteer group, and our other two volunteer groups, Peach Corps and the Shepherd Center Auxiliary.

SCS has three events annually, our "Big Game Bash" Super Bowl Party on February 5, 2012,  Summer In The City, a gourmet food and wine tasting extravaganza on July 18, 2012 at Piedmont Park Conservancy's Greystone, and The Tailgate for the SEC kickoff game at the Georgia Dome.  We also host Happy Hours every other month.

SCS 2012 Co-Chairs are Lee Zell and Alex Panos, Membership Chairs are Kellie Johnson and Ryan Hoyt, Big Game Bash Chairs are Paige Booker and Will Connell, Summer in The City Chairs are Kelley Anne Smaha and Sai Reddy,The Tailgate Chair is William Stallworth,Social Chairs are Reagan Michaelis and Sarah Kathryn Smith, PR Chairs are Caroline Harrell and Brandie Miner. 

Involvement

There are no regularly scheduled meetings and no mandatory events. We recognize that our members have many other commitments and invite our members to participate depending on what suits their schedules.

For those with busier schedules, showing up at the event might be as much for which they have time. For others who wish to get more involved, they may like to volunteer to help on one of the event committees.

Annual dues are $75 per person or $150 per couple. Dues will cover your admission at the Big Game bash and Summer in The City and get you a discount for The Tailgate.

How does SCS support Shepherd Center?

All net proceeds from membership dues, sponsorship, and event ticket sales go to Shepherd Center to support its SHARE Military Initiative, a special care continuum for US Military personnel wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan. 

As you learn more about the hospital and its remarkable achievements, you will assist us by becoming an advocate for Shepherd within our community.
