This session will focus on utilizing a wellness framework to develop the plan of care for therapeutic interventions and educational programming for people with multiple sclerosis. The dimensions of wellness will be discussed as well as suggested strategies for implementation in common rehabilitation settings.  Evidence will be presented to support the use of a wellness framework for people with severe disability due to multiple sclerosis in an outpatient setting. A detailed discussion regarding common cognitive functions affected by severe disability in multiple sclerosis, along with the impact on quality of life and independence in activities of daily living will be discussed. Rehabilitation approaches will be introduced to compensate for cognitive deficits with review of tools, strategies and techniques as well as recommendations for caregiver education and training.
