Jamie Shepherd III
Director of Community Services and Risk Management
Jamie Shepherd is the director of community services and risk management at Shepherd Center. Jamie, the son of Shepherd Center co-founder James H. Shepherd, Jr., has followed in his family’s footsteps by contributing to Shepherd Center’s mission of helping people with a temporary or permanent disability caused by injury or disease, rebuild their lives with hope, independence and dignity.
As director of community services and risk management, Jamie provides guidance and support to patients and their families after discharge by engaging them in programs that promote health, wellness and independence, aiding in the reduction of unplanned readmissions and their associated costs. Jamie is a founding member of the Shepherd Center Society and a board member of Shepherd Center. He also is a representative of the hospital at numerous fundraisers, as well as within the community.
Jamie previously served as a strategic project analyst at Shepherd Center, reporting directly to the chief financial officer and director of quality. In this role, he was part of the financial team that creates, analyzes and reconciles budgets for all hospital departments.
Jamie received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Georgia. He received a master’s degree in business administration from Georgia State University and is currently attending Georgia State University to pursue his master’s degree in health administration.
Outside of work, Jamie enjoys hunting, fishing, attending University of Georgia football games and spending time with his wife Sarah and their four children.
