Nathan Pursifull, M.D.
Dr. Pursifull’s Medical Background
Nathan Pursifull, M.D., of Piedmont Physicians Group is a consulting urologist at Shepherd Center. He is board certified in urology and received his medical degree from Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine in 2006. He completed a urology residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2012, and then practiced urology at Martin Army Community Hospital until January 2016, serving as the Chief of Urology. He holds memberships in the American Urological Association and the Southeastern American Urological Association.
Dr. Pursifull treats a wide spectrum of urologic conditions in men, women and children, with a special focus in minimally invasive urology. He uses laparoscopy and the daVinci robotic surgical system to treat cancer of the prostate and kidney, as well as many reconstructive surgeries for hydronephrosis and pelvic organ prolapse. The minimally invasive approach decreases post-operative pain, blood loss, length of hospital stay and the time to full recovery.
Dr. Pursifull has published numerous peer-reviewed publications and articles on urology, renal injury and trauma injury infection and critical care.
