Dr. Guffin’s Medical Background
Thomas Guffin, M.D., of Buckhead ENT is a consulting physician at Shepherd Center. Dr. Guffin attended Emory University, where he received his medical degree, and completed his internship in general surgery at same university. He completed his residency in otolaryngology at the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center. Dr. Guffin continued his training by completing a fellowship in otolaryngology at Emory University. He is a board-certified otolaryngologist.
Dr. Guffin practices general ENT and sees patients for a variety of reasons, including hearing problems, sinus problems, neck surgery consultations, nose problems and asthma. Dr. Guffin has a particular interest in the professional voice. He treats singers, actors, and professional speakers. Among his patients are singers performing leading roles at the Metropolitan Opera, La Scala, The Royal Opera Covent Garden and the Vienna State Opera.
