Dr. Murray’s Medical Background
Dr. Murray is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon with a specialty in shoulder and elbow reconstruction and arthroscopy, general orthopaedic surgery and fractures.
Dr. Murray received his bachelor's degree in mathematics from the University of the South (Sewanee), where he also played baseball. He received his medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine in 1997. Dr. Murray completed his internship at Georgia Baptist Medical Center and his orthopaedic training at Atlanta Medial Center, where he served as chief resident.
Dr. Murray completed a prestigious fellowship in shoulder and elbow surgery at the Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York. This fellowship focused on shoulder reconstruction including shoulder replacements and fractures, as well as the arthroscopic repair of rotator cuffs and shoulder instability. He served as the assistant team physician for the New York Mets professional baseball team and was also the assistant team physician for New York University. He is serving as team physician for Whitfield Academy.
Dr. Murray is a physician at the Peachtree Orthopaedic Clinic. In 2010, he served as president of the Georgia Shoulder and Elbow Society.
