Hedy Maus BS, MSW

Hedy Maus joined Shepherd Center in 2013 as an admissions liaison for patients in North and South Carolina. 

Prior to joining Shepherd Center, Hedy worked for seven years as a Social Work Case Manager in the Neuro Intensive Care Unit of UF Health Shands Hospital, a Level 1 Trauma Center in Gainesville, FL. In this position, she did crisis and bereavement counseling as well as patient advocacy and discharge case management.

“I feel honored that patients and their families allow me to meet and work with them in the days following a catastrophic brain or spinal cord injury. This can be a very overwhelming time. I want to bring them an awareness of the array of resources available to them and of the difference the Shepherd Center can make in their lives,” Hedy said.

Hedy earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte, and a master’s degree in social work at the University of Georgia.

In her free time, Hedy enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, long walks, and going to the movies and plays.
