Patient Outcomes
It's important to be confident about the quality of care you or a loved one will receive when entering a rehabilitation program. Shepherd Center specializes in the treatment of spinal cord injury, brain injury and stroke. We're not a general rehabilitation hospital like the majority of facilities you will encounter. That means we have more experience dealing with situations like yours.
Our goal is to maintain the highest quality of outcomes for our patients and to present our outcomes to help inform your decision when choosing a rehabilitation provider. Get more details and download our latest outcomes, quality and patient safety reports below.
From the drop-down menu below, select the patient program that interests you and then review our most recent outcome measures.
Shepherd Center Outcomes Scorecard and Annual Quality Report
The quality goal for Shepherd Center is to be the leader in defining, measuring and delivering superior-quality care for patients who have sustained life-altering spinal cord and brain injuries. To our patients, staff and board members, quality means continually improving patient safety and the clinical care experience.
The measures reported in our Shepherd Center scorecard and quality report for 2018 reflect a range of outcomes from those that should never occur to any patient – in fact, they are known in the healthcare industry as “Never Events” – to specific program outcomes that reflect the positive achievements of patients who have participated in rehabilitation at Shepherd Center.
Shepherd Center believes people should have as much accurate information as possible to make informed decisions about their healthcare. One way to facilitate that is to publicly post and report how Shepherd Center rates on a range of quality standards and benchmarks.
