33rd Annual Derby Day

Date:
May 2, 2015
Location:
Chastain Horse Park

Derby Day has been an Atlanta tradition since 1983. Each year, the event is held on the first Saturday in May to coincide with the Kentucky Derby.

Considered a highlight of Atlanta's spring social calendar, Derby Day, planned by Shepherd Center's Junior Committee, attracts more than 1,000 people each year, as well as hundreds of sponsors.

Shepherd Center's Junior Committee is composed of over 200 young professionals who are between the ages of 25-34 years old. This group works from August until May planning the annual Derby Day event. There are monthly meetings at Shepherd as well as several social events throughout the fall and spring around town. Members of this group are charged with promoting the event to their friends and family, as well as help us secure sponsors and auction items.
