Clinical Management for Severe Brain Injury Conference

Shepherd Center announces its upcoming brain injury conference “Clinical Management for Severe Brain Injury,” which will be held Sept. 15-16, 2017 at Shepherd Center in Atlanta. The speakers will bring a wealth of knowledge from an interdisciplinary perspective, presenting evidence-based and best-practice approaches on all aspects of care from assessment and treatment through long-term considerations. Also, a panel of patients and family members will share their personal stories and offer tips for healthcare providers based on their family’s experiences.

Day 2 of the conference will consist of a variety of interactive and interdisciplinary breakout sessions. Breakout session topics are:

• Early Mobility and Activity
• Cognition and Communication
• Vision after Brain Injury
• Nutrition and Swallowing
• Behavioral Strategies
• Navigating Resources

This program is designed for nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, recreational therapists, social workers, psychologists and case managers.
