In recognition of Fair Housing Month, Shepherd Center is hosting a seminar that will focus on disability issues as a protected class under the federal and state Fair Housing Act.  Speakers from Metro Fair Housing Services and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) will provide information on:

·      the latest federal programs and benefits for the disability community;

·      the recent accomplishments of Metro Fair Housing (including the Spanos retrofit project);

·      the SOPOS Coalition's progress pursuant to publishing its report/briefing;

·      Metro's partnerships with Shepherd Center and other advocates;

·      Fair Housing Awards to deserving disability advocates.
