Schedule of Activities:
9:00 AM– 9:30 AM: Registration
9:30 AM – 10:00 AM: Welcome and educational session
10:00 AM – 11:30 PM: Skill instruction and practice
11:30 AM – 11:45 AM: Break and refreshments
11:45 AM– 1:00 PM: Skill instruction and practice
1:00 PM: Wrap-up

Cost: FREE, plus participants will receive a clinic t-shirt

Target Audience
This course is appropriate for:

  • People who use a manual wheelchair as their primary means of independent mobility
  • People who are independent in personal care or who have a caregiver present to assist with personal care
  • People with a working wheelchair that does not currently require maintenance

Precautions/Restrictions
Please make us aware if any of the following applies to you:

  • Recent or unstable fracture of the spine or extremities (within the last 6 months)
  • Wheelchair that currently requires maintenance (if so, please make an appointment with your supplier and address these issues before registering for this course)

Other Important Information
A caregiver or friend may attend to work on spotting technique, but is not required for participation.
Weather permitting, this course will be held outside at the Shepherd Center Mobility and Terrain Park. The alternate location for this clinic is the plaza level of the Woodruff Pavilion. Please remember that no wheelchair maintenance will be performed during this clinic. This clinic is a volunteer program and is not intended to serve as formal therapy.
