Our Health and Wellness Clinics are for individuals with physical or cognitive disabilities. These clinics provide the opportunity to become physically active and gain insight to achieving a well-balanced lifestyle.

Online Programming
E-Birding Virtual Series
This virtual event will take place via Zoom with three 2-hour classes over a 3-month time frame. Participants will have the opportunity to join the Shepherd Center and Georgia Audubon for an online education series on birdwatching. Series topics will be determined closer to the program dates. This program starts in January and will run once a month through March.

In-Person Programming
January Hunt
This event will take place at Morrow Farms. Participants will have the opportunity to get out of the city and enjoy a guided deer/board day hunt on 225 acres on the Flint River in Reynolds, GA. Hunters will also have access to all terrain vehicles and stocked ponds with onsite lodging available.

Riveria Maya Trip with Wheel the World
This event will take place in Riveria Maya, Mexico. Participants will have the opportunity to join Shepherd Center and Wheel the World for an international adventure through Mexico. Please note, participants will be responsible for securing their own airfare for this event.

- Location: Riveria Maya, Mexico
- Cost: $3,100 (includes t-shirt, most meals, lodging, transportation, and attraction admissions. Participants are responsible for securing their own airfare).
Snow Ski Trip with the National Ability Center
This event will take place at the National Ability Center in Park City, Utah. Participants will have the opportunity to join Shepherd Center and the NAC for snow skiing in addition to various other activities. This trip is targeting individuals who have experienced a spinal cord injury. Please note that participants will be responsible for securing their own airfare for this event.
- Date: January 22nd-26th
- Location: National Ability Center in Park City, Utah
- Cost: $600 (includes t-shirt, meals, lodging, transportation, and equipment, and instruction. Additional fees for family members/attendants that plan to ski. Participants are responsible for securing their own airfare).
Winter Horticulture Clinic
This event will take place at the Callenwolde Fine Arts Center in Atlanta, GA. Participants will have the opportunity to join Shepherd Center and Trellis Horticulture Therapy Alliance for a horticulture clinic that will focus on a basic horticulture/nature craft session. Program activity will be determined closer to program date.

February Boxing Clinic
This event will take place at Pepper Boxing in Atlanta, GA. Participants will have the opportunity to join Shepherd Center and Pepper Boxing instructors for a 50 minute fitness class. This course offers educational and hands-on demonstrations. Equipment will be provided.

Fencing Clinic
This event will take place at Shepherd Center in Atlanta, GA. Participants will have the opportunity to join Shepherd Center Recreation Therapists, Shepherd Center Sports Team Coordinator, and local disabled fencing athletes/instructors. This course offers educational and hands-on demonstrations. Equipment will be provided.

Dillsboro Art Clinic
This overnight event will take place at the Jackson County Green Energy Park in Dillsboro, NC. Participants will have the opportunity to join Shepherd Center and local artisans to create various art mediums. Potential art projects include: glass blowing, blacksmithing, hand clay building, and ceramics. This course offers educational and hands-on demonstrations. Equipment will be provided. Please note, participants will be responsible for securing their own transportation for this event.

Charlotte Clinic
This event will take place in Charlotte, NC. Participants will have the opportunity to join Shepherd Center, Back to Independence Rehab, and Adaptive Sports and Adventure Programs for a day clinic. This course offers educational and hands-on demonstrations. Equipment will be provided. Please note, participants will be responsible for securing their own transportation for this event. Activity will be determined closer to the event date.

burnalong Online Fitness Programming
burnalong is an online wellness platform that offers educational, demonstrational, and exercise videos. In addition to Shepherd Center classes, you can access 60+ categories that range from traditional fitness like yoga, HIIT, and bootcamp, all the way to nutrition, adaptive workouts, financial wellness, support for sleep, chronic conditions like diabetes and Parkinson's, and even dog workouts! Take classes live, on-demand, or, get social from home and invite others you can see and hear to join you in group sessions. To register for the burnalong platform, visit the burnalong website. A limited-time free membership is being offered through a partnership between Shepherd Center and burnalong. Please email burnalonginfo@shepherd.org for the code.
February Fitness Series Focus: Cardio
This event will take place online on the burnalong platform. Participants will have the opportunity to join Shepherd Center instructors for a live 45-minute cardio-based fitness class. This course offers educational and hands-on demonstrations.

Registration
Registration is required for all events and opens six weeks prior to the start of the class or course. Most courses require a small fee; however, financial assistance is available. Please note that you are responsible for providing your own transportation to and from events and providing any personal care needs.
